Cool shot of a pirate ship at sunset. Taken from the boat as we were heading to isolated cove of Las Caletas.
The sunset on the Pacific that same evening on the way to Las Caletas.
Neat shot of a palm tree upside down as I was laying underneath it.
Over looking the bay of Vallarta (that is a zip line I had just went on in the background) ~ beautiful view from up there.
Riding in the open jeep coming down the mountain from where I was in prior pic.
Amazing ride as we rounded curves on the edge of cliffs....whew ~ scary!
Soaking it all in one last time...just hours before leaving Mexico! What a wonderful vacation!
I finally took a long awaited vacation. Before last week, it had been 5 years since I last took an entire week off work. I spent the past 8 days in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico at the Grand Mayan Resort. I was truly blessed by some friends who have a time share. They had a week stay at an incredible resort near Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Their two bedroom suite could sleep 8 guests so four of us went. I had no room expense for the entire week, just had to pay my airfare. What a deal!
I haven't had this much fun in years. Went on several adventurous excursions. The first and my favorite one was last Tuesday. It started with a 45 minute speed boat ride across the bay to a place called Boca de Tomatlan, a secluded beach at the edge of the jungle on the southern shores of Banderas Bay. During the boat ride I spotted a whale about 100 yards from us...beautiful! From there we took an off road ride in a 4x4 Unimog, taking us 2000 feet above sea level into the heart of the Sierra Madre Mountains. We then went on mules even higher and further into the sub-tropical forest. The trip down included 4 miles of thrilling zip lines, a 65 foot free fall, rappelling down a waterfall, splashing through natural springs and river pools and crossing several jungle bridges more than 250ft high. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! I ordered a cd of the pictures from this excursion so I don't have pics to post yet but I'll post once I receive the photos. The zip lines were so fun I did another trip to the mountains last Friday for more thrilling rides. It included an off road 4x4 expedition, 15 zip lines, some hiking, an amazing view overlooking the bay area of the city and a tour of a tequila distillery.
One night I twisted off and went to a local disco. The music was wonderful. I danced for hours. Hadn't danced that much since high school. My feet were throbbing when I got back into the hotel. I was very grateful that particular evening for the wonderful jacuzzi in the room.
Wanted to share photos but for some reason I'm having trouble posting pictures...not sure what the problem is...suggestions anyone? I'll keep trying.
